Lake Louise-July 11

We finally made it to Lake Louise. We’ve been staying in the campground at Lake Louise VILLAGE for the last three days, but the lake is just down the road a bit. Because it is so popular, the parking lots are full most of the day and you need to take a shuttle up to the lake. After supper this evening, we noticed that the sign was down for “Parking Full” so decided to drive up there. The lake is stunningly beautiful, but that didn’t show up in my pictures. There were still many people in a relatively small area as only one end of the lake is accessible as the other three sides are steep mountains. After taking some pictures and walking around a bit we got back in the Jeep (yea!) and drove to Lake Moraine. While it wasn’t as pretty as Lake Louise, the pictures came out better.

Moraine Lake

Canoe rentals at Lake Moraine. We were too late at both lakes to be able to rent one.

Interesting Berries

A pretty yellow columbine. The first columbine I’ve seen.

  1. The picture with the canoes would be a great picture for enlarging and hanging on the wall.
