Hopefully we'll be back in commission by this afternoon.
Update, Saturday evening.
Well, I guess I spoke too soon about wanting to sightsee
with just the Jeep. The calipers are fine, it’s the axle seal that’s out. And
there is no way to get parts until Monday, maybe.
So to make the best of the situation, we took the motorhome
exploring this afternoon. We were able to find a place to park it in all the
places where we were wanting to stop (but we were purposely trying to stay away
from the heaviest crowds).
The lakes are all a
beautiful turquoise color that I can’t seem to capture on my camera. We saw
several glaciers and the mountains are majestic.
It started raining pretty good and we couldn’t decide
whether to go on hoping it would quit or turn back. We pulled into a rest area
to see if we could just wait it out. David read a book and I took a nap. That
scenario is so backwards that I’m a little concerned that the world as we know
it may be coming to an end… After about
an hour, we decided to head back to camp and try again in the morning. We hope
to explore the Icefields Parkway as far towards Jasper as we can get, if the
weather holds. There is a glass walkway over one of the glaciers that I’m
excited about trying-David is saying “no way” but, we’ll see.
Crowfoot Glacier
Peyto Lake
And then there were the flowers.
That stinks about the Jeep! Hopefully tomorrow you will get it fixed and be good to go. Timmy laughed about the world coming to an end since you were the one taking the nap and David was reading. Your pictures are great and I am sure that they do not even capture how majestic it really is.
